Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified Workplace Safety and Health Officer to manage risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations at project sites. Responsibilities include monitoring adherence to the Environmental Management Plan, conducting meetings, and liaising with project managers on safety and health issues. Candidates must hold relevant safety certifications, have at least 5 years of experience, and be proficient in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

  • Registered as Workplace Safety & Health Officer with practical experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Chinese.

Job Descriptions
  • Actively conduct risk assessments at project site and recommend measures to minimize and eliminate possible risks to any person.
  • Monitoring and verifying that the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is adhered to at all times and taking action if the specifications are not followed.
  • Keeping records of all activities/incidents concerning the environment on site and issuing of spot fines for transgression of activities identified in the EMP.
  • Work closely with different teams to implement and maintain a strong safety regime on site.
  • Conduct toolbox meeting and ensure the permit to work system in place.

  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s QEHS Management System, the WSH Act, and all occupational safety and health requirements at all times.
  • Reporting to the WSH Manager, you will liaise closely with Project Managers on workplace safety, health and environmental issues to maintain a high level of safety at the sites.
  • Ability to lead and advise on safety programs.
  • Review and maintain site's WSH records.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
  • Holding Certificate in WSH Coordinator Course/ Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course and/or any Relevant Safety Certificates from any approved institutions will be preferred.
  • Registered as Workplace Safety & Health Officer and ECMO with at least three (5) years of post-registration and practical experience relevant to the scope of works of the contract. Local candidates with building experiences will be advantage.
  • Ability to speak, read and understand documents in English and Chinese.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working location at project site office, Amber Garden.
  • 5.5 working days
  • Short notice period or can immediately onboard will be advantage.
