Job summary

The ideal candidate must have a Diploma or Degree in relevant engineering fields, at least 5 years of supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of machining processes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day workshop operations.
  • Plan and manage manpower, workload distribution, and resource allocation to meet operational targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure all workshop activities comply with company procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Lead, guide, and develop team members to maintain high performance, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Maintain proper documentation and traceability of all work processes, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and readiness of workshop machines, tools, and consumables.
  • Develop, review, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), training plans, and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor department expenses, inventory, and support annual budgeting and cost control efforts.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration through effective communication across departments.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or Degree in Precision, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or any related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in machining or workshop operations.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes (milling, turning, wire EDM) and workshop safety.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings and developing machining process plans.
  • Familiarity with metal processing techniques such as welding, cutting, and heat treatment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and fluent in English, Malay and Mandarin (mandatory) for effective team communication.
