Job summary

A recruitment agency in Singapore seeks a safety officer with a focus on tunnelling safety management. Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise occupiers, project managers, engineers, and other personnel on safety and health measures to be implemented on-site.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with local and national health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor the overall safety performance of the project, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices, reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze safety performance trends and data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports to management, highlighting trends and areas of concern.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address identified safety issues and implement improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure that corrective measures are executed effectively.
  • Conduct safety training and workshops for site personnel to promote a culture of safety.
  • Develop and distribute safety materials and resources to enhance awareness of safety practices.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures.
  • Maintain records of safety incidents and report to management as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Holds relevant safety qualifications such as the Advanced Certificate in WSH or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in tunnelling works within the construction sector.
  • Well‑versed in statutory obligations under the WSH Act and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Prior tunnelling exposure—preferably gained from MRT or major underground infrastructure projects—is essential.
  • Willing to work a 6‑day week and able to support weekend or public holiday duties when required.
