Job summary

A healthcare provider in Singapore is seeking a nurse to provide care for residents in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Nursing with at least 5 years of experience in orthopedics, medical-surgical, or gerontology settings. Responsibilities include managing resident care, administering medications, and supervising staff. Candidates should be team players with the ability to work independently. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the resident’s doctor and multi-disciplinary team to provide care to the residents; updates on changes in the residents’ condition and needs

  • Ensure care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan

  • Work with allied health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures

  • Carry out and supervise assessments of all new admissions

  • Prepare clinical documentation and ensure all documentations are current

  • Prepare and administer medications to residents and comply with safe medication practices

  • Supervise staff to ensure safe medication practice

  • Participate in training and development of staff

  • Work with Supervisor to conduct quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care

  • Deal with emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation. Escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary

Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing or its equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years and above working experience in orthopedics, medical surgical or gerontology experience in a inpatient ward setting

  • Team player and able to work independently as well
