Overview / Brief

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in sales and marketing of cotton reporting to the marketing manager / head of the region.
  • Identify opportunities and grow market share in various destination markets.
  • Manage counterparty risk, through mark to market (MtM) mitigation & good choice of customer profiling.
  • Analyze Supply and Demand (S&D) and come up with trading and marketing ideas with ultimate goal of profitable market share growth.
  • Co-ordinate for issuance of PI.
  • Maintain database of initial LC opening, Clean LC time, issuance of PI time etc.
  • Co-ordinate with India treasury and Asia treasury on availability of bank lines for Indian shipment.
  • Co-ordinate for any special clause in LC either from seller side or buyer side.
  • Co-ordinate on shipment from Origin. Possible shipment date, possible voyage time. Via ports or direct shipment co-ordination.
  • Advise on LC opening time to marketers on meeting possible deadlines of shipment.
  • Provide HVI data for Aus cotton on buyers request after approval from Traders.
  • Contract allocation for Aus cotton in ATLAS.
  • Follow up on pending SI / LC for Aus cotton with respective buyer / agents.
Experiences
  • 1-3 years' experience in commodity sales and marketing
  • Basic understanding of how commodity cash and futures markets work
  • Good communication & persuasion / negotiation skills
  • Good at math & basic excel, python and modelling skills would be a plus
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail essential
  • Ability to work independently and propose solutions.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good time management skills, capable of acting on own initiative and demonstrate responsibility;
  • Committed approach to team work, adaptability.
