Therapy Assistant (Physiotherapy)

Job Description:

With specific instructions from the Physiotherapists, carry out all physical therapy activities for residents and/or clients independently, in partnership with other Therapy Assistant staff and/or with the Physiotherapists, individually or in groups, including:

  • receiving instructions either verbal or written from the Physiotherapists
  • carrying out all instructions correctly i.e. performing the correct techniques and/or applications for
  • residents and/or clients before, during and after therapeutic activities as required
  • carrying out all instructions efficiently i.e. managing and organising schedule for attending to residents
  • and/or clients to meet key performance indicators
  • observing residents and/or clients before, during and after therapeutic activities as required
  • reporting observations as required, back to Physiotherapists, to allow them to modify future sessions if needed
  • using mobility aids correctly and instructing residents and/or clients to use mobility aids correctly
  • performing manual transfers correctly when required
  • using hoists and electronic transfer systems correctly and safely
  • Participating in departmental project work and meetings when needed

Key Requirements:

  • GCE N Level or equivalent
  • Compassionate nature with the desireto serve the elderly and children
  • A team player with good interpersonaland communications skills
