A leading shipowner company in Singapore is looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent for their fleet of chemical vessels. The ideal candidate will have seagoing experience as Chief Engineer and shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent. Responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance, managing technical operations, and leading dry-docking processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to work effectively within teams and with stakeholders. This role is critical for maintaining the highest operational standards and safety protocols.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent for an established & international Shipowner Company to manage the companys fleet of chemical vessels. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent. He/she would possess a good working attitude and can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company standards. Spearhead the safety initiatives onboard and ashore, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Technical Operations Oversight: Monitor and manage day-to-day technical operations of chemical tankers. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, energy efficiency, and environmental performance standards. Address deviations promptly while upholding the company's energy management initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory, class, and third-party requirements. Implement and enforce adherence to organizational policies, operating procedures, and management systems.
Vessel Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct bi-annual vessel inspections, manage routine maintenance through the companys system, and oversee compliance with repair, modification, and service requirements. Coordinate spares and verify stock levels during ship visits.
Dry-Docking Management: Lead all phases of the dry-docking process, from planning to on-site management and final reporting. Ensure compliance with company procedures and standards during repair and modification activities.
Performance Evaluation and Budget Control: Evaluate Chief Engineers and vessel management performance, collaborating closely with crewing teams. Develop, monitor, and control running cost budgets, aligning with company procedures and applicable KPIs.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in the continuous improvement of departmental procedures. Identify areas for operational enhancement, recommend improvements, and contribute to cross-fleet learning and experience transfer.
