Job summary

A leading pharmaceutical company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to provide calibration support and preventative maintenance for production equipment. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in electrical/instrumentation within similar industries, strong problem-solving skills, and knowledge of cGMP principles. This role involves troubleshooting, supporting improvement projects, and ensuring adherence to quality guidelines and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in electrical/instrumentation.
  • Good working experience in Electrical & Instrumental discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and good documentation practice is advantageous.

Job Description

Provides support for calibration of instruments and preventative maintenance (PM) plans as requested. Responsible for written documentation of activities and SAP transactions, change control activities, spare part lists, and PM plans. Actively supports, participates and embraces an inclusive team culture, interacting with Operations, Quality, Automation, Technology, and other groups as required. Provides timely, efficient, and satisfactory support. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment failure to determine root cause and perform immediate corrective actions. Standby for emergency repair after office hours, weekends, and public holidays. Operates and maintains production support equipment efficiently and reliably to support production activities. Performs and coordinates equipment shutdown, startup, swing over, and equipment servicing and inspection. Identifies, executes, and reports improvement on routine work activities. Participates in improvement projects to enhance equipment or system efficiency, reduce energy usage and other cost saving/avoidance projects. Performs jobs assigned by Maintenance Lead pertaining to installation, modification, fabrication, testing, servicing and repairs of equipment, with adherence to site change control procedures or minor projects. Performs testing, commissioning, qualification (IQ, OQ) activities. Carries out Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) improvement initiatives (audits, training, etc.) and submits recommendations. Executes CMMS Work Instruction from process plants (e.g. leakages, replace faulty part, troubleshooting, repair). Participates in SHE, Business Compliance, cGMP and other compliance-related matters, where applicable. Supervises and oversees Third Party Contractors, where applicable. Performs any other duties as and when assigned by Supervisor / Manager. Understands and follows proper cGMP principles and quality guidelines related to assigned work.

  • Use tools like Real-time Problem Solving (RTPS), Fishbone or 5 Whys to solve problems.
  • Assesses simple issues and suggest paths towards resolution.
  • Able to properly assess the situation and understand when to escalated to higher-level leading self or others, and department.
  • Works with minimum direct supervision.
  • Trains and guides technicians in the day/shift teams.
  • Seeks advice in personal and professional development.
  • Applies inclusive behavior in the work environment and daily activity.
Qualification
  • NTC / ITC / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrument & Control or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
  • PUB electrician's license will be an advantage.
Experience
  • Min 5 years of working experience in electrical/instrumentation in the Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or related industries.
  • Good working experience in Electrical & Instrumental discipline will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and good documentation practice is an advantage.
