UWCSEA is seeking a Primary School Class Teacher (K1–Grade 5, ages 4–11) for a full-time, fixed-term contract of 11 months, starting in August 2026, at its East Campus.
The Fixed Term Contract starts from 3 August 2026 to 23 June 2027.
Please note that to apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a happy, stimulating, safe learning environment for all children and bring a sense of energy, joy and fun to the classroom.
- Plan, teach and assess through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote agentic learning and the holistic development of each child.
- Reflect continually on your craft as a teacher and commit to personal and professional development and growth.
- To communicate clearly with parents about teaching, learning and wellbeing related to the children in their care.
- Employ a wide variety of learning and teaching strategies including the use of new technologies to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
- Work as a member of a grade team, planning learning engagements collaboratively, sharing resources and offering insight to the team in areas of curriculum specialism.
- Enthusiastically participate in professional learning, both that which mandated by the College and that which is identified by the individual.
- Contribute to the continuous professional development of Teaching Assistants.
- Integrate technology effectively within the classroom for learning, planning, assessment purposes and the documentation of student learning.
- To build positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Any other tasks as reasonably directed by the Vice Principals and/or Principal.

Person Specifications
- A relevant degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized professional teaching qualification or certification are essential.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years, classroom based teaching experience, preferably in international schools (4-11 year olds).
- Experience teaching students who are English Language Learners.
- An understanding of concept-based learning in an interdisciplinary programme would be advantageous.
- An interest and engagement with outdoor education, and an understanding of Service Learning.
- A committed and creative practitioner, you will be reflective on your own teaching, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to ensure every child is developing at their own rate in all areas of learning.
- A passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- The ability to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning is a prerequisite for teaching at UWCSEA.
- A willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education and Service.
- A willingness to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, enthusiastic participation in and delivery of Professional Learning is expected. Evidence of regular and recent professional learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and spoken. The language of the workplace and the language of instruction is English.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
- The College expects a significant contribution to Activities and/or Service.
- The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.

- Concept-based teaching and learning – a desire to engage children in concept-based learning, where they develop big ideas both specific to subject areas and transcending them.
