Job summary

A leading marine logistics group in Singapore is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to manage procurement activities for shipbuilding and project operations. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will handle sourcing, purchasing, and supplier performance. Ideal candidates will have a diploma or degree in Supply Chain or related fields and 5-8 years of relevant procurement experience. This is a full-time position with opportunities for process improvements and vendor management.

Job description
The Opportunity

Adecco is partnering with an established marine logistics group, and we are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join their business permanently! Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful incumbent will support shipbuilding and project procurement activities, managing sourcing, purchasing, commercial coordination, and supplier performance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment for ongoing projects.

Role Details
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Location: East region
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm (staggered hours available)
The Job
  • Support procurement planning for shipbuilding and project-based operations in line with project schedules.
  • Manage supplier sourcing, quotation reviews, and commercial negotiations for equipment, systems, and technical components.
  • Execute purchase order processing and procurement coordination in line with internal controls and approval workflows.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project, commercial, and finance teams to align specifications, budgets, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor delivery schedules, vendor performance, and supply risks, resolving delays and discrepancies proactively.
  • Support contractual and commercial activities, including intercompany freight coordination and Incoterms alignment.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, tracking logs, and reporting for management visibility.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company standards, regulatory requirements, and project governance frameworks.
  • Contribute to process improvements, cost optimisation initiatives, and supplier performance enhancement.
The Talent
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Marine Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience in marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy industrial procurement environments.
  • Proven exposure to project-based newbuild procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of marine equipment, systems, and technical supply markets.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations, contract coordination, and vendor sourcing.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, international logistics, and intercompany trade flows.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP/procurement systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Able to manage multiple project timelines with strong execution discipline and commercial awareness.
