The Company

Our client is a well-established and reputable player in the global shipping industry. With a diversified portfolio that includes vessel ownership, ship management, and manpower services, they are committed to delivering excellence across all facets of maritime operations. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a meticulous and proactive Vessel Accountant to join their finance team.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following

  • Manage full sets of accounts for assigned vessels, including monthly closing and reporting.
  • Prepare vessel-specific profit and loss statements, variance analysis, and budget tracking.
  • Monitor and reconcile vessel operating expenses, including crew costs, port charges, and maintenance.
  • Liaise with internal departments (technical, crewing, operations) to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
  • Handle intercompany transactions and ensure compliance with group accounting policies.
  • Support external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and working capital management for vessel operations.
Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess a degree in Accountancy or ACCA with the following relevant experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the shipping or maritime industry.
  • Strong understanding of vessel operations and cost structures.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively across departments.
