About our group:

The Global Logistics organization is responsible for defining and managing “Stock-to-Deliver” and “Order Management, ATP and Fulfilment” processes globally. This includes overseeing over 120 locations and ensuring seamless operations across all business segments and movement types.

The logistics organization includes sourcing functions that support regional logistics and fulfillment operations. The Sr Staff Commodity Manager role is embedded within the logistics team and focuses on supplier engagement and procurement activities that directly impact logistics performance.

About the role - you will:

Be responsible for strategic sourcing, primarily focusing on freight services and contract logistics, to support regional logistics and fulfillment operations.

Independently drives and executes Seagate’s logistics sourcing initiatives – multiple RFPs/tenders/contract negotiations in a year.

Negotiates and completes contracts with highly complex and critical suppliers.

Drive competitive sourcing process with Seagate e-sourcing tool to ensure fairness and transparency and identify best in class suppliers based on comprehensive data analysis.

Conduct market research to understand trends, pricing, availability, and emerging suppliers or technologies to help making informed decisions about sourcing and cost optimization.

Work across multiple time zones with cross‑functional teams as a team player in multi‑modal, cross‑region synergies to develop sourcing strategies to ensure supply base is consistent with roadmap and operations requirements.

Drive cost saving initiatives to identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership through consolidation of suppliers, volume, operating sites, or other cost‑effective alternatives.

Support operational initiatives and special projects, offering expertise in logistics and operational planning to improve departmental effectiveness.

Maintain, evaluate, and rationalize vendor relationships through vendor management programs.

About you:

Demonstrates excellence in both collaborative team environments and independent work.

Proficient in English with strong writing & communication skills.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).

Confident in delivering presentations to all levels of management, including executive leadership, to secure support for team sourcing decisions and strategies.

Ability to travel as per business needs for supplier engagement, on‑site meetings, and team collaboration.

Strong ability to partner with logistics suppliers in forward‑thinking strategic development and relationship building.

Ability to multi‑task and navigate between strategic & hands‑on work effectively.

Ability to close complex sourcing projects and commercial deals in a timely fashion.

Your experience includes:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering and/or Business Administration.

Strong experience in logistics or supply chains, or related functions.

Proven performer in logistics procurement, contract management and vendor management.

Know‑how of developing Air & Ocean Freight, Road Transportation / Cross Border Trucking / Last‑mile and Small Parcel / Courier or Warehousing modes.

Strong knowledge of logistics marketplace and commercial pricing of any of the logistics modes.

Negotiation of logistics commercials and timely management of contractual agreements.

Strong analytical and data modelling skills.

Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized e‑sourcing platforms like E‑Bravo) is an added advantage.

Collaboration within team environments and building partnerships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
