Looking for an exceptional team member for our venture building team to lead the design, validation, and launch of high-potential deep-tech ventures. This is a rare opportunity for a hands‑on, entrepreneurial builder with a strong foundation in science or engineering, combined with deep experience across the full venture‑building lifecycle, including technology assessment, commercial validation, go‑to‑market design, and investment readiness.
In this leadership position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our venture pipeline. You will work closely with research institutions, corporates, and ambitious founders to transform breakthrough technologies into investible, scalable companies.
What You Will Own
- Identify early‑stage deep‑tech startups for potential investment or venture‑building pathways
- Present analyses and recommendations during our bi‑weekly Investment Committee meetings with investors
- Oversee and continually refine our full venture‑building programme, including technology evaluation, founder sourcing, venture design, and operational delivery
- Ensure workflows are structured, efficient, and driving toward clear venture creation and investment milestones
- Assess emerging technologies in partnership with corporates, research institutes, and our Scientific Council
- Identify high‑potential innovations across our core verticals: Advanced Manufacturing, MedTech, Robotics, and Energy
- Lead market research, competitive landscaping, and customer discovery
- Shape early business models and refine each venture's go‑to‑market strategy
- Source and onboard CEO and CTO caliber founding teams (with support from the Ops Manager)
- Assess founder and technology fit, as well as team complementarity
- Coach founders to hit critical early milestones including commercial validation, prototype development, technology licensing, pilot engagements, and basic supply‑chain design
- Lead financial modelling, commercial planning, and investment case development to ensure ventures present compelling, data‑driven value propositions
- Work closely with our COO (William) and CEO (Luuk) on fundraising, strategic advisory, and operational scaling for existing portfolio companies

Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in venture building, technology commercialization, startup leadership, or entrepreneurship
- Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly synthesize technical, commercial, and strategic perspectives
- Excellent programme and project management capabilities
- High business acumen, comfortable moving between strategy, operations, financial modelling, and execution
- Influential communicator who can align diverse stakeholders without overpowering the room
- Experience working with startups, research institutions, and corporates, with the ability to navigate different cultures and expectations
