Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
• Perform various types of testing, including but not limited to functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure testability of features.
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor and guide junior testers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments and test data.
• Analyse test results, identify trends, and provide comprehensive reports on quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Proven experience in designing and executing complex test cases and test plans.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, ALM).
• Experience with defect tracking systems.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to write SQL queries for data validation.
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) is a plus.
• Experience with automation testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) is a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• ISTQB certification or similar.
