Who We Are? About the Team:

The Issuing Engineering team at Airwallex is responsible for developing a range of tools and systems related to card management, transaction processing, and settlement operations. Their key areas of ownership include:

• Cards: Providing customers with tools for managing card features and lifecycle, ensuring a delightful and scalable user experience.
• Transactions: Building a global transaction processing platform that emphasizes high throughput, availability, and resiliency.
• Settlement: Overseeing the clearance, settlement, and dispute processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance across systems.
• Platform Solutions: Allowing platform customers to create their own issuing services using Airwallex's APIs and white-label capabilities.

As a mid level engineer, you will be building the most technical elements of our payments network. The issuing processor manages integration with card networks and enables millions of card payments with industry leading availability to support 24x7 global transactions. These systems span several products including B2B wallets, payment acceptance, credit card issuing, treasury management, FX and this list continues to expand. Through our platform team you will be responsible for supporting key systems to both our front end web/mobile application team and support the integration of our platform solution, direct to customer, via an API.

This role will see you making contributions to technologies and libraries that we depend on while leading the refactoring of complex systems and components. You will partner with other key roles in the cross-functional team to develop the strategy and roadmap, prioritize work based on impact and drive the implementation with best-in-class quality and performance SLA.

Who you are - Job requirements:

• 2+ years experience in modern engineering practices focused on continuous integration/delivery and quality engineering
• Strong computer science fundamentals. While we do not mind what language you have most recently been using we are using Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot
• Evidence of working on high volume distributed systems
• Hands on experience with event driven architectures
• Strong cloud experience GCP (preferred) or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront etc) with docker and Kubernetes
• Observability tooling such as Splunk, NewRelic, Prometheus, Grafana
