As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem‑solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams
  • Continuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software development
  • Collaborate with the software development team and stakeholders to identify and prioritize software needs
  • Design and implement software solutions with a focus on optimizing performance and ensuring high reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices and recommend innovations in software development
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careers
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related disciplines
  • 5 or more years of software engineering experience. Mastery in Java with respect to designing, coding, testing , and software delivery
  • Strong proficiency in Java 17, Oracle, Spring Boot, ReactJS
  • Exposure to AWS infrastructure and services
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and Operational stakeholders
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
