A leading waste management company in Singapore is seeking a motivated Operations Engineer to supervise a team at their Waste-to-Energy plant. The successful candidate will lead operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maintaining optimal performance of boilers and turbines. Applicants should possess a relevant engineering degree and at least 3 years of experience in power or industrial operations. This role involves 12-hour rotating shifts in Tuas South.
Report to the O&M Manager and work a 2D2N & 4-off rotating shift schedule (day and night shifts).
Lead and supervise a team of up to 10 engineers and technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plant.
Monitor and control boilers, turbines, flue gas treatment systems, and auxiliary equipment from the Central Control Room (CCR) to maintain optimal plant performance.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including MOM, NEA emissions standards, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations.
Troubleshoot operational issues and make real-time decisions to maintain plant stability and availability.
Coordinate and support maintenance activities, isolations, and equipment normalization in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
Review operational logs, shift reports, and DCS trends; propose improvements to efficiency and reliability.
Lead and support change management, continuous improvement, and plant optimization initiatives.
Maintain high HSE standards and enforce safety practices across the shift team.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the O&M Manager.
Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in power plant, WTE, utilities, or heavy industrial operations.
Hands-on experience with boilers, turbines, DCS operations, or high-pressure systems is an advantage.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate shift operations and make sound technical decisions.
Willing to work in Tuas South on a 12-hour rotating shift basis.
