About the job Senior/Vessel Manager (Bulk Carrier)

We are looking for an experienced and self‑motivated Senior Vessel Manager to join a well‑established and dynamic Shipowner. This position is crucial in ensuring the efficient technical operation of assigned fleet of dry bulkvessels.

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience as an Vessel Manager/ Technical Superintendent preferably on container vessels. He/she would possess good working attitude and has the ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the assigned ships thereby taking necessary actions and decisions to maintain asset value of the ships, statutory compliance, budget management and timely technical assistance to ensure seamless flow of business operations.
  • Provide guidance and solutions on technical issues for optimal performance of ships thereby meeting the service requirements in a cost‑efficient manner.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement major repairs, dry‑dockings and vessel retrofit upgrades.
  • Make accurate budgeting and managing ships within the approved budget.
  • Coordinate with procurement and contracts department to ensure timely supply of spare parts and consumables to ships.
  • Ensure ships are managed in compliance with all Flag state, Classification society and Port State requirements.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as Chief or Second Engineer with minimum sailing experience preferably on container vessels. Otherwise, sailing experience on cargo ships (container/ bulk carrier / tanker) is required.
  • Experience in dual fuel (DF) vessel management, new build vessel deliveries, and sailing as an engineer on ships with DF propulsion systems is an advantage.
  • Candidate should have good knowledge of PMS and SMS system
  • Digital fluency with IT knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
