Senior Technical Lead – Avaloq
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end analysis, solution design, validation, and workshops within the assigned domain to ensure full and consistent requirements and solution coverage.
- Interpret customer business needs and translate them into functional and operational requirements; provide strategic recommendations, challenge assumptions, and ensure all solutions remain cost-efficient and aligned with business goals.
- Oversee functional and technical design for new features or enhancements.
- Bridge requirements, solutioning, development, and testing by working closely with developers on scope, resources, and delivery planning.
- Formalize business requirements into functional and technical specifications through documentation analysis, workshops, surveys, business process mapping (As-Is and To-Be), use cases, and scenarios.
- Facilitate both technical and business discussions; where consensus cannot be reached, make decisions based on feasibility, cost, strategy, and architectural direction.
- Provide timely reporting on progress, risks, and issues, escalating to the project or delivery manager when necessary.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated areas, deep-diving into requirement or solution gaps with support from product architects.
- Act as the primary contact for functional queries and support consulting engagements and client workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- 6–9 years of experience in Financial Technology (Wealth Management, Core Banking); Avaloq experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial and global market regulations.
- Proven analytical and product management skills with the ability to convert business needs into application and operational requirements.
- Familiarity with Trading, Middle Office, and Back Office platforms such as Bloomberg, Avaloq, and FinIQ is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Highly structured, organized, and results-driven, with strong attention to detail and consistency in deliverables.
- Ability to multitask, remain flexible, and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.

- Static data, client modelling, client onboarding, CRM modules.
Portfolio Management
- Portfolio Desk, Performance Desk, IPS, asset allocation, benchmarking, model portfolios, investment propositions.
Transactional Modules
- Cash transactions: FX, Money Market, OTCs, payments, transfers.
- Investment transactions: asset management, time-series management, stock exchange operations, settlement, corporate actions, reconciliation.
- Credit/Finance: facilities, financing, limits, loans, guarantees, security financing.
- Cost and fees.
- Compliance rules and configuration.
- Regulatory knowledge.
Migration Expertise
- ETL, static and dynamic data migration, migration workflows, strategies, planning, and data mapping.
Project Management
- Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
