Job summary

A leading logistics company in Singapore seeks an experienced professional to manage ocean freight operations. Job description
Purpose and Main Tasks
  1. Ensure the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight to- and from specific locations within the service standards agreed with the Customer.
  2. Handle and Supervise all Customer facing communication and shipment related internal communication between/with DSV stakeholders.
  3. Handle and Supervise exception management in case of service quality deviations including follow‑up and problem resolution.
  4. Handle and Supervise Customers’ profitability and initiate corrective actions if required (timeliness & completeness).
  5. Monitor individual & team performances and balance workload.
  6. Escalate unresolved issues to next management level.
  7. Participating to customer visits, reviews, QBR when required.
  8. Participate in ad‑hoc projects related to business process improvement (Internal and External).
  9. Perform value‑added task within the scope of the function to meet customer requirements and changes made in the operations process.
  10. Take on additional tasks (e.g. create / update ISO procedures) during department performance review and/or annual scheduled events (e.g. audits) as assigned by superiors.
  11. Monitor and ensure all customs permit declaration are in compliance with Singapore Customs Regulations and Procedures.
Responsible

  2. Act in a manner which increases Customer satisfaction and loyalty, maximizes shipment profitability and decreases operating expenses.
  3. Promote a paperless, digital office environment utilizing all modern communication methods and electronic tools provided by DSV.
  4. Explore upsell opportunities with the Shipper (involve Sales Team - as applicable).
  5. Handle discipline & grievance cases for direct reports.
  6. Involved in the exercise of performance appraisal as a supervisor or leader.
  7. Participate in recruitment process to attract and identify potential candidates.
  8. Responsible for on‑job training and career progress for direct reports.

Required education

Required experience

  3. Knowledge of ocean freight, international trade and relevant laws, regulations, Supply Chain processes and procedures will be preferred.
  4. Self‑driven individual with high degree of professional integrity.
  5. Ability to communicate at all levels of business and across cultural / National boundaries.
  6. Good analytical skills – supply chain process.
  7. Possess good communication and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to lead cross functional teams.
