A global semiconductor company based in Singapore is seeking an Automation Engineer to enhance automation capabilities and drive strategic improvements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, along with strong programming skills in Python, C++, and others. Responsibilities include optimizing systems and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with certifications in Six Sigma being a bonus.
Key responsibilities in your new role
Responsible for participating in FAT and interface testing to ensure implemented solution meets regulatory requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Identify opportunities for automation optimization and efficiency improvements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation capabilities, efficiency and cost effectiveness
Utilize advanced machine learning techniques to enhance decision making and execution capabilities of the robots, thus optimizing the overall intelligence of the system
Monitor and optimize navigation of autonomous robots and path algorithms to achieve maximum efficiency
Team up with multidisciplinary teams to drive automation projects completion to meet strategic objectives
Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
Min. Bachelor’s/ Master Degree in Industrial/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering
Min. 5 years of relevant manufacturing / production / industrial experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry
Strong grasp of Python, Perl, C++, HTML, Linux, SQL and Tableau skills preferred
Good knowledge in factory automation and Industry 4.0 requirements will have an added advantage
A strong team player with excellent communication skills and project management experience
Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills with desire to initiate improvements
Certified in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or possesses experience in applying DMAIC principles will have distinct advantage
