Job description

Job Duties

1. Research, design, develop, and enhance COBOL-based core banking systems.
2. Analyze user and business requirements to develop technical specifications.
3. Write, test, and maintain COBOL, Pro*C, and related program components.
4. Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to deliver solutions.
5. Prepare technical documentation including specifications, design, and test cases.
6. Perform software integration and support system validation/testing.
7. Provide level 3 production support, analyze and resolve technical issues.
8. Participate in peer reviews and ensure high-quality code delivery.
9. Contribute to technical discussions and propose solutions using best practices.
10. Support continuous improvement and ensure delivery within scope, time, and quality standards.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
2. Minimum 6 years’ experience in COBOL and Pro*C development.
3. Strong knowledge of Micro Focus COBOL, C, Shell scripting, SQL/PL-SQL.
4. Hands-on experience with Oracle databases and GitLab.
5. Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes).
6. Familiarity with messaging/file transfer tools (MQ, CFT).
7. Good understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
9. Proactive, autonomous, and collaborative team player with willingness to learn new technologies.
