Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturing company in Jurong Island is seeking a Senior Shift Technician. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience as a DCS operator in a chemical processing environment. Responsibilities include controlling process parameters during operation and shutdown, monitoring DCS alarms, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced shift environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience as DCS operator in chemical processing
• Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, SS651
• Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous

Jobscope:

• Sound good chemical plant DCS operation knowledge to control process parameters for plant start up, normal operation and plant shutdown.
• Apply chemical plant operation knowledge to follow documented procedures (e.g. Standard operating procedure-SOP, EHS regulations, risk assessment).
• Closely monitor DCS (Distributed control system) for alarms, analyze the deviation and respond according to documented process adjustment steps.
• Given instruction to shift technician in the field, to ensure close coordination and clear communication between DCS action and field action, to prevent mis-operation.
• To demonstrate strong ownership, team spirit, challenge and sincerity

Requirements:

• Diploma or Nitec in Chemical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years work experience as DCS operator in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
• Possess basic Knowledge of chemical processing and equipment, with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, SS651.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work 12 hours rotating shift pattern in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work in Jurong Island
