Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Settlement Officer to join our operations team in Singapore. This role is essential to supporting the clearing and settlement of securities and derivatives across global markets, particularly U.S. and Hong Kong equities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of end-to-end settlement workflows and corporate actions, and be capable of identifying and resolving exceptions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily settlement operations and instructions across global markets, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash balances between internal books and external custodians/agents.
  • Investigate and resolve trade breaks, unmatched positions, and settlement failures in coordination with internal teams and external counterparties.
  • Manage full lifecycle of Corporate Action (CA) events – including mandatory and voluntary events.
  • Draft and maintain clear and up-to-date policies, SOPs, and control documentation.
  • Collaborate on workflow improvements and automation initiatives with IT and operations stakeholders.
  • Provide operational input to system enhancement projects and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with settlement teams at Waton Securities International Limited (NASDAQ: WTF) in Hong Kong and with the R&D team in Shenzhen to ensure smooth global coordination.
  • This is not a front‑office trading role. Trading instructions are directed by senior management and the role does not involve market strategy development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in securities operations, middle office, or settlements in a brokerage or custodial environment.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Hong Kong markets and their settlement cycles and systems.
  • Experience in handling corporate actions and trade reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus for communicating with regional teams.
  • Knowledge of Swift, CCASS, DTC, or Euroclear is a plus.
