Job summary

A construction engineering company in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage construction contracts, perform cost budgeting, and assess progress claims. Candidates must hold a Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in the Sanitary & Plumbing or M&E Industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong negotiation skills are essential for success in this role.

Job Descriptions
  1. Preparation of construction contracts and negotiation revisions, change and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
  2. Preparation of tender submission and pre-tender pricing verifications.
  3. Produce quantity measurement within the targeted timeline.
  4. To ensure completeness and timely submission of the tender bid.
  5. Prepare cost budget, track changes in design/construction work, and adjust budget projects accordingly.
  6. Review and prepare agreements for award to subcontractors and suppliers.
  7. Certify and evaluate progress work done, including contract administration for variations for both subcontract and main contract works.
  8. Assess and submit monthly progress claims, and recommend the subcontractor's monthly progress payment.
  9. Work closely with Project Manager in preparing monthly updated project progress and costing.
  10. Finalise subcontract and main contract's final account.
  11. Upon completion of each project, to monitor the respective project during the defects liability period.
  12. Perform project material procurement and purchase.
  13. Other quantity surveying-related duties.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Min. 5 years of similar capacity experience in the Sanitary & Plumbing Industry or M&E Industry would be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability in contract negotiation, contract administration & variation orders.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of CAD and Cubicost software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment a good team player and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
