Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior M&E Engineer to assist the M&E Manager. The responsibilities include coordinating M&E works on site, ensuring the quality of installations, and managing safety standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possess strong organizational, technical, and communication skills. This role is critical to maintaining efficient project schedules and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Control site progress & installation quality as per approved Shop Drawings.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspection and clear inspections to meet construction schedules.
  • Responsible for variation order cost collection and verification.
  • Implement safety standards to comply with safe work methods.

Job Summary

Assist the M&E Manager in coordinating M&E specific works on site.

Essential Job Functions

The Senior/M&E Engineer is responsible, but not limited to, the following:

Quality
  • Control site progress & installation quality as per approved Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions, and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Schedule for on-time completion.
  • Appraisal for works/products compliance to Specifications/Requirements and selection recommendation.
  • Responsible for M&E drawing coordination and production of CSD and individual service drawings quality.
  • Responsible for conducting QA/QC inspection, managing RE, RTO, and responsible for clearing QA/QC inspections to meet with construction schedule.
  • Provide and maintain all site inspection records & T&C records up to date.
Procurement, Contract, VOs, EOTs
  • Responsible for variation order cost collection, cost verification of the VO works, and making necessary recommendations for VO prices.
  • To check, evaluate, and confirm work done and material supply quantity status for the purpose of M&E sub-contractor/NSC vendors' progress payments including instruction on progress substantiation document preparation by sub-contractors and vendors.
Safety
  • Responsible for site implementation of safety standards to comply with IMS safe work methods.
  • Responsible for attendance at daily site coordination meetings and providing detailed coordination with subcontractors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Personality
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Good technical knowledge in mechanical & electrical trades.
  • Good knowledge of Local Code/Regulation Knowledge pertaining to M&E services, building construction, and safety.
  • Time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage particular tasks put in his charge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues quickly
