A leading energy consultancy based in Singapore is seeking an experienced LNG Trader to manage physical LNG trades. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in LNG trading, with a solid understanding of global markets and a proven record of success. The company is an established player in the Oil & Gas sector. Its trading arm focuses on global procurement, trading, and risk management of energy commodities—including crude oil, refined products, LNG, and derivatives—supporting the group’s value chain while driving profitability and market competitiveness. Due to business expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an LNG Trader to join the Singapore LNG team.
Reporting to the Head of LNG, this role will originate, structure, and execute profitable physical LNG trades while developing strategies to optimize the trading book within defined risk limits. Responsibilities include identifying global market opportunities, negotiating spot, mid-, and long-term contracts, and building strong relationships with producers, portfolio players, and end-users. The position requires staying ahead of market fundamentals, pricing benchmarks, and geopolitical drivers, and providing actionable insights to internal stakeholders. Close collaboration with Operations, Risk, Legal, Credit, Finance, and Shipping teams is essential to ensure smooth execution and commercial optimization across the LNG value chain.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline and have at least 10 years of experience in physical LNG trading or portfolio management, with a proven track record of profitable performance. Strong knowledge of global LNG markets, shipping, pricing mechanisms (JKM, TTF, Henry Hub), and contract structures is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The candidate should be highly driven, proactive, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset.
