A leading offshore engineering company based in Singapore is seeking a highly experienced Naval Architect with a Master's in Ocean Engineering. The role involves developing Mooring and Riser Design basis for offshore installations, performing advanced naval architecture calculations, and reviewing detailed technical drawings. Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in offshore projects, particularly in the oil & gas industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior role. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of marine codes and standards.
To develop Mooring/Riser Design Basis, Philosophy, Installation & F(P)SO Hook-up Philosophy, Metocean data review, Geophysical and Geotechnical data review, inspection and maintenance strategy, and ensuring compliance with project design philosophies, standards, procedures, specifications and provide procurement support. Overseeing and performing complex/advanced naval architecture calculations of F(P)SO on stability, turret/spread/CALM Buoy mooring, motion analysis, extraction of dynamic wave loads, flexible risers, hoses, and structural analysis, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant marine and offshore and structural codes, standards like API, AISC, ASME, ABS, BV, DNV, ISO 19901 series, IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, OCIMF, etc., including various regulations and industry best design practices.
To review Shipyards and Vendo detailed drawings/technical packages including retrieving the required information and resolving Client/Class review comments. Familiarity with Metocean data, Environmental loads generation for wave, wind and current; hull motion, slamming, green water, whipping, etc.
Preparation of F(P)SO Mooring and Risers Arrangement, hull lines/offset table, specifications, material datasheets for mooring and riser components, etc.
Knowledge of tanker conversion to F(P)SO, selection and sizing of mooring configuration (catenary/taut‑leg/spread mooring), anchors/suction piles, chains/wires, shackles, connectors, chafe chains, hawsers, etc.
Other works as assigned by Project Engineering Manager/General Manager, Engineering based on person’s forte and project requirements.
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture
Minimum 10 Years in hull, motion, mooring, riser analysis, design, engineering and offshore installation work within the oil & gas industry especially for F(P)SO or other floating offshore installations. At least 5 years of this experience should be specifically in offshore oil & gas processing projects, including work on F(P)SO, and subsea structures. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience should be in a senior or lead role, managing engineering teams or projects.
