A reputable healthcare organization in Singapore is seeking a Senior Laboratory Information System Officer to provide comprehensive IT support and maintain laboratory information systems. This role involves optimizing workflows, conducting training for medical staff, and ensuring compliance with policies. As a Senior Laboratory Information System Officer (North), you will be responsible for the following duties:
Provides both technical and administrative IT support to the Laboratory Medicine and Pathology departments.
Supports the laboratory management team in implementing organisational and departmental policies, and in overseeing the end-to-end testing workflow, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.
Maintain strong operational knowledge of laboratory information systems, laboratory equipment software, and other relevant applications used within the laboratory.
Optimise information systems to support laboratory operations in achieving established performance indicators.
Support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Laboratory Information System (LIS), including test reconciliation across multiple system interfaces.
Provide IT and system support to all laboratory sections to ensure turnaround time targets are met, including technical assistance during system breakdowns and downtime.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, work instructions, and guidelines, and collaborate with the Head of Clinical Laboratory and reporting officers on disciplinary matters where necessary.
Ensure all IT-related incidents are properly reported, assist in investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain the laboratory intranet, dashboards, and in-house developed software or applications to ensure optimal functionality.
Conduct training, competency assessments, and supervision for medical laboratory technologists and medical officers, where applicable.
Prepare, review, and update documentation, including policies, work instructions, bench guides, and forms.
Identify and troubleshoot major system issues, and determine when escalation to the Head of Clinical Laboratory or Head of Service is required.
Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Recognized Degree in Medical Technology / Biomedical Science or related Life Science field.
