We are now seeking a highly skilled Senior KDB+ Engineer to join their trading technology group and contribute to the development of cutting-edge trading platforms and algorithmic trading solutions.

Role Overview

As a Senior KDB+ Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance time-series databases and real-time analytics systems that support trading and quantitative research. You will work closely with traders, quants, and software engineers to deliver scalable and reliable solutions for market data capture, strategy execution, and post-trade analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, develop and implement KDB+/q solutions for real-time and historical market data processing.
  • Collaborate with trading and quant teams to develop and optimize algorithmic trading systems.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for low-latency trading environments.
  • Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability across trading platforms.
  • Support production systems and troubleshoot complex issues in live trading environments.
  • If you are more senior there will be an opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in KDB+ development.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a KDB+ Engineer in a trading or financial services environment.
  • Strong proficiency in q programming and time-series data modeling.
  • Deep understanding of market data (e.g., equities, FX, futures) and trading system architecture.
  • Experience with algorithmic trading platforms and strategy development.
  • Familiarity with low-latency systems, networking, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) is a plus.
  • Background in quantitative finance or data science is advantageous.
