Job description

We are seeking an experienced Semiconductor Gas Box Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering principles, combined with hands‑on expertise in designing, integrating, and creating custom flow block designs and component designs for semiconductor gas delivery systems. This role requires deep technical skills, problem‑solving abilities, and specialization in semiconductor process equipment, safety standards, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design of semiconductor gas boxes and gas panel systems, ensuring compliance with industry safety and performance standards. Prepare P&IDs, layouts, 3D models, and engineering documentation for gas delivery systems. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on system architecture, component selection, and integration. Custom block and component design as per SEMI standards. Specialization in gas panel enclosure and system design.
  2. Develop and execute test plans for gas boxes and components, including leak testing, pressure control, flow validation, and safety interlocks. Perform functional testing and characterization of gas panels and components to meet semiconductor process requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve design, assembly, and operational issues.
  3. Apply fluid dynamics for optimized design of flow paths and pressure drops. Ensure compliance with SEMI, ISO, and local safety standards. Conduct FMEA, risk analysis, and reliability testing for gas handling systems.
  4. Generate engineering documentation, test reports, and technical manuals.
    Support manufacturing teams during assembly, installation, and qualification.
    Work with customers on custom requirements and technical problem.
Specialized Skills
  • Strong background in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials compatibility.
  • Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD, or similar) for system design.
  • Experience with P&ID generation, system schematics, and engineering calculations.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor gas delivery systems, high‑purity gas handling, and vacuum technology.
  • Hands‑on skills in testing, instrumentation, and troubleshooting of complex gas systems.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards, safety protocols, and cleanroom.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and project management abilities.
Education / Experience / Languages
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment design, gas box/gaspanel development, or related engineering roles.
  • Prior experience in semiconductor OEMs or high‑tech manufacturing environments preferred.
