A leading construction company in Singapore is seeking a project manager. This role involves overseeing project management, monitoring subcontractor performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. Candidates will provide mentorship to subordinates and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. The successful individual will play a key role in achieving project objectives and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide inputs to supervisor and/or Planning Manager for project management program creation.
• Create overall construction plan based on project management program.
• Guide subordinates in work sequence and resource management.
• Analyze progress reports against section-level construction plans.
• Create and share progress reports with supervisor periodically.
• Take action to correct any time/cost overruns.
• Monitor progress of sub-contracted work and guide corrective action.
• Guide subordinates in scope of work to be subcontracted.
• Conduct tender interviews and commercial negotiations for sub-contracts.
• Review and approve draft purchase orders prepared by subordinates.
• Review and approve high-value invoices from suppliers/sub-contractors.
• Coordinate with the commercial team for vendor payments.
• Review construction costs and raise concerns to supervisor.
• Guide recovery of cost over-runs from clients/subcontractors.
• Understand health, safety and environment guidelines.
• Monitor adherence to HSE guidelines.
• Oversee adherence to quality management system.
• Report construction quality and take corrective action.
• Develop strong relationships with key client representatives.
• Train and mentor subordinates on their roles.
• Demonstrate leadership to subordinates.
