Job Description - Senior Associate, Full Stack Developer, SRE & Governance, Group Technology (26000014)

In Group Technology, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Key Accountabilities

• Driving DevOps Enablement: Providing hands‑on technical expertise in designing, developing, and implementing robust DevOps tools, applications, and standardized practices to enhance our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and overall development ecosystem.
• Leading Continuous Delivery Initiatives: Architecting, building, and maintaining automated deployment pipelines for both applications and underlying infrastructure, ensuring rapid, reliable, and secure delivery from code to production. You will champion best practices in continuous delivery, focusing on efficiency, stability, and observability.
• Leveraging GenAI for DevOps Transformation: Exploring, prototyping, and integrating Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities to enhance various aspects of the DevOps lifecycle.
• Component Rationalization and Optimization: Proactively identifying and addressing redundant components across our technology stack. You will advise on strategies to consolidate and streamline common components, fostering modularity, reducing technical debt, and improving maintainability.
• Championing Technological Advancement: Continuously exploring, evaluating, and recommending cutting‑edge technologies, frameworks, and methodologies relevant to full‑stack development and DevOps. You will foster a culture of innovation by introducing new opportunities and best practices to the wider development community.

Responsibilities

• To work with cross‑functional architecture and development teams to analyse and design solutions within the bank.
• To advise & build standard architecture patterns.
• Support design and development of process automation for DevOps & Workbench activities.
• Support documentation of standard processes and best practices.
• Continuous experimentation of continuous delivery and testing processes and practices.
• Hands‑on coding, unit testing and automated functional testing.
• Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required.
• Ability to work with the latest tools and techniques.
• Working in highly collaborative teams and building quality environments.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced, global environment.
• Knowledge in lots of different open source technologies and techniques.

Requirements

• Preferably good knowledge and experience in DevOps automation, containerisation and orchestration using tools such as Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, SonarQube, Kubernetes etc.
• 4 to 8 years of development and delivery experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot etc.
• Experience with highly scalable distributed systems.
• Hands‑on in‑depth experience in some of the following technologies:
• Jenkins/Maven/Git/SonarQube/Fortify/Confluence/Jira/Artefactory.
• Cloud Foundry, OpenShift or other PaaS technologies.
• Public clouds such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
• Strong understanding of Linux.
• Familiarity with relational databases, preferably MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with, or an interest in Agile Methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum.
• Knowledge of software best practices, like Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in order to facilitate workshops.
