Job description

SOG Design is an international architectural practice known for delivering visionary, human‑centred environments across Asia and beyond. Our portfolio spans large‑scale mixed‑use developments, commercial towers, hospitality, residential, and masterplanning projects. We combine design excellence with technical rigour, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to shaping cities for the future.

As we continue to expand our APAC footprint, we are seeking a Senior Associate Director to join our Singapore studio and play a pivotal leadership role in driving design quality, project delivery, and team development.

The Senior Associate Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing complex, high‑value architectural projects from concept to completion. This role blends creative direction, client leadership, technical oversight, and operational management. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, strengthen client relationships, and ensure SOG’s design standards are consistently upheld across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership
  • Lead the conceptualisation and development of innovative design solutions for large‑scale mixed‑use, commercial, and urban projects.
  • Uphold and elevate SOG’s design vision, ensuring creativity, feasibility, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Review and critique design work across project teams, providing clear direction and mentorship.
Project & Technical Oversight
  • Oversee full project lifecycle—from feasibility and concept through schematic, detailed design, and construction.
  • Ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and coordination across disciplines.
  • Anticipate project risks and proactively drive solutions to maintain quality, timelines, and budgets.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, consultants, authorities, and partners.
  • Build long‑term relationships that strengthen SOG’s reputation and pipeline.
  • Lead presentations, negotiations, and design discussions with confidence and clarity.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and guide architects, designers, and project managers across multiple teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Support talent development, recruitment, and capability building within the Singapore studio.
Business & Practice Growth
  • Contribute to strategic planning, business development, and proposal submissions.
  • Identify opportunities for new work, partnerships, and market expansion.
  • Support operational excellence, resource planning, and studio management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 12–18 years of relevant experience, with a strong international portfolio of large‑scale, complex projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in an international design practice or multidisciplinary consultancy.
  • Exceptional design sensibility paired with strong technical and delivery capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client‑facing skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams and projects concurrently in a fast‑paced environment.
