Job description

Singapore, Tuas Singapore

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

As a Senior Accountant in our GBSO team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations across our Singapore entities. You will be responsible for order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report processes, supporting cashflow management, statutory compliance, and audit readiness. Beyond daily accounting operations, you will also drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to system enhancements that support business excellence.

Join our best-in-class global finance team at our Tuas site in Singapore to gain exposure to international accounting practices, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and grow your career in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

What You’ll Get

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture.
  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.
  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance.
  • Daily company bus from the MRT location near your home to and from the Tuas site.
  • Fully paid medical insurance, with the option to enroll family members at partially subsidized premiums.
  • The full list of our global benefits can also be found at Lonza Careers.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform customer credit checks, establish credit lines, and monitor customer risk in compliance with company policies.
  • Lead monthly AR reviews with project managers and sales teams, proactively manage collections, and resolve receivable issues.
  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Handle GST filings, reconciliations, and withholding tax computations in compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting, including asset creation, capitalization, depreciation, impairment, retirement, and disposals.
  • Monitor Construction-in-Progress (CIP) assets and ensure timely capitalization.
  • Perform general ledger activities including journal postings, reconciliations, and month-end closing (HFM, intercompany, schedules).
  • Submit accurate weekly cashflow forecasts and support Corporate Treasury.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, group policies, and internal controls, supporting internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to automation, process improvement, and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Uphold data integrity principles and continuously improve financial processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent; CPA/CA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience across AR/AP, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations, audit requirements, and financial compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP; Hyperion experience is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable with a results-driven mindset.

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment. Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
