Position Title: Relief Teacher
Reports To: Principal / Relevant Supervisor

Role Summary
The Relief Teacher provides temporary classroom coverage in the absence of the regular teacher. They ensure continuity of learning, maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment, and follow the school’s policies, lesson plans, and routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons according to the plans provided by the regular teacher or the academic department.
- Ensure a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supervise students during class, transitions, and designated duty periods to ensure safety and proper conduct.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s discipline policy.
- Provide basic support to students who require clarification or guidance during lessons.
- Record attendance and report any incidents, concerns, or irregularities to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure classroom materials, equipment, and resources are used responsibly and returned properly.
- Follow school procedures for emergency drills, safety practices, and safeguarding guidelines.
- Complete any required administrative tasks related to the lesson or student learning.
- Collaborate with support staff and communicate with relevant teachers when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum diploma or degree in Education or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different subjects, class levels, and learning environments.
- Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Familiarity with school safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
