Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator with strong expertise in SAP HANA upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, database management, performance tuning, and supporting upgrade/migration activities. The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience in working on large-scale enterprise SAP landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Perform SAP HANA system upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.
• Manage SAP Basis administration including installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Support system refresh, backup/restore, and high availability/disaster recovery activities.
• Collaborate with functional, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure smooth upgrade execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Basis-related issues across SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and HANA DB environments.
• Maintain system security, user management, and transport management.
• Prepare documentation, status reports, and provide knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of SAP Basis administration experience with at least 2 full-cycle HANA upgrade or migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA 2.0, SAP NetWeaver, and S/4HANA systems.
• Proficient in OS (Linux/Unix/Windows) and database administration (HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, DB2 preferred).
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and system management.
• Familiarity with SAP security concepts, transport management, and system landscapes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with global teams and stakeholders.

Good to have

• SAP HANA or SAP Basis certifications.
• Cloud migration experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in large enterprise or multinational environments.
