Duties and Responsibilities
The Sales & Business Development Executive is responsible for driving sales through both showroom-based consultations and active outside sales activities. This role requires the candidate to proactively source and develop new sales opportunities through sales events, exhibitions, roadshows, networking, and external customer visits, in addition to handling showroom walk-in customers. The role also involves coordination with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and high customer satisfaction.
The candidate must be willing to work during weekends and public holidays for sales events when required.
Key Responsibilities
Showroom Sales & Customer Engagement
- Present and promote natural stone, sintered stone, and quartz materials to homeowners, interior designers, contractors, and architects.
- Guide customers through material selection based on design, functional, and budget requirements.
- Handle walk-in enquiries, provide professional product advice, and close showroom sales.
- Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Outside Sales & Business Development
- Actively seek and develop new sales opportunities through sales events, exhibitions, roadshows, industry networking, and external customer visits.
- Proactively approach and engage potential clients to generate new leads and project opportunities.
- Conduct follow-ups on leads generated from outside sales activities and events to convert them into confirmed sales.
Sales Coordination & Administration
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and sample requests for customers and projects.
- Coordinate with operations, production, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, and installation.
- Track project progress and follow up on outstanding sales matters.
Sales Performance & Reporting
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall team sales performance.
- Track sales activities, pipeline, and key sales KPIs.
- Maintain accurate sales records and customer information.
Customer Service & Issue Handling
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally.
- Escalate complex issues to management when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Sales, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Experience in showroom sales, outside sales, project sales, or building materials / interior-related industries is an advantage.
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays for sales events, exhibitions, or roadshows.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and customer-oriented.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or sales systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Basic salary with sales commission based on individual and/or team performance.
- Commission structure to be shared upon confirmation or during interview.
- Off-in-lieu or rest day for weekend/public holiday sales events (subject to company policy).
