We are seeking a proactive and experienced professional to lead workplace health and safety initiatives. This role focuses on implementing comprehensive safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a safe working environment through preventive measures, training, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute health and safety frameworks tailored to operational needs.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to legal and internal standards.
- Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to manage high-risk activities effectively.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver training sessions and briefings for personnel across all levels.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and adjust as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of incidents, audits, and training activities.
- Ensure alignment with applicable regulatory and industry safety requirements.
- Coordinate with external bodies during assessments or inquiries.
- Promote a culture of safety through awareness, engagement, and leadership.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Health, or Occupational Safety.
- Minimum of 3–8 years of experience in a similar safety role (senior candidates for managerial positions should have 6+ years).
- Solid understanding of workplace safety legislation and best practices.
- Practical knowledge of recognized safety and environmental management systems such as ISO 45001 or ISO 14001.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and incident investigation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver engaging training and guidance.
- Certification in safety is required or highly preferred, including:
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration Training)
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- Exposure to fast-paced technical or manufacturing environments, such as electronics or precision industries.
- Familiarity with emergency preparedness, response planning, and simulations.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
