Overview

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) is a 795-bed general and acute care hospital that serves more than 550,000 people living in the northern sector of Singapore. The Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) department is a small but busy unit dedicated to serving the ophthalmic needs of the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

As a Resident Physician, you will be responsible for the management of ophthalmology patients under the supervision of senior doctors and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Your duties include the daily running of eye clinics, on-call night duties, supervision of junior doctors and any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Job Requirements
  • Possess a basic or postgraduate medical qualification from one of the Universities/Medical Institutions listed in the Schedules of the Singapore Medical Council ( https://www.healthprofessionals.gov.sg/smc for List of Medical Qualifications Eligible For Consideration For Conditional Registration)
  • Registered as a medical doctor in the country of conferment of medical qualification and/or last place(s) of practice;
  • Prior clinical experience in ophthalmology is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
  • A candidate whose basic medical qualification is not conducted in the English language must provide evidence of English Proficiency and meet the acceptable score specified by the Singapore Medical Council.
