Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site activities comply with client requirements, building codes, and statutory regulations.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies to the Consultant, and propose practical solutions to avoid delays.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure full compliance with project requirements.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure strict adherence to approved method statements and work procedures.
  • Verify that all works are carried out in accordance with the Consultant’s instructions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify non-conformities such as defects or poor workmanship, and enforce timely corrective actions.
  • Inspect delivered materials to ensure they conform to approved specifications and samples.
  • Oversee and witness the testing of materials (e.g., concrete, steel, finishes) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor inspection, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure alignment with design intent and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
  • Update as-built drawings and document all approved changes.
  • Prepare progress reports covering work status, delays, and safety incidents for the Project QP or Consultant team.
  • Verify contractors’ progress claims—including work completion and materials on-site—before recommending approval.
  • Monitor the project schedule, report potential delays, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Serve as the liaison between contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Report all quality concerns, safety issues, and progress challenges promptly to the Project QP or Consultant.
Requirements
  • Possess a relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree from a recognized university and be a registered Resident Engineer with IES.
  • Minimum 5 years of Resident Engineer experience, preferably in the supervision of warehouse, factory, or showroom projects.
  • Fully conversant with the Building Control Act, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Capable of administering contracts professionally, maintaining site records, and organizing contract documents in accordance with reporting requirements under the Building Control Act.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
