Research Officer

A Research Officer position is available at the Neuroimmunology Laboratory at the National Neuroscience Institute. The lab is interested in understanding how inflammation in the meninges influences injury in the brain cortex. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a passion for research and an inquisitive mind. Prior experience in molecular biology techniques is required, with previous experience in rodent work preferred.

The candidate will be expected to perform a variety of functions related to the research including, but not limited to:

  • Carrying out the design and execution of the research project
  • Contributing to project management, including preparing oral presentations and written reports
  • Assisting in laboratory management including ethics approval, procurement of consumables, maintaining laboratory records and safety protocols
  • Performing other research-related duties related to the daily running of the laboratory as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with a minimum of two years of experience in a research laboratory
  • Previous experience in molecular biology techniques is essential
  • Prior experience in rodent work is preferred
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently and effectively with precision
  • Meticulous in record keeping and possess good organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills as an effective team player
