Job Description

Department of Surgery at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a full‑time Research Associate/Assistant to support faculty members in the area of health services/biomedical research. The position is a 1‑year contract in the first instance and could be extended with good performance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team members to ensure successful completion of research projects on time.
  • Recruit participants; collect, administer questionnaires and coordinate project activities.
  • Enter, verify and analyse data.
  • Prepare academic manuscripts and research grant proposals.
  • Train junior staff.
  • Travel between study sites (e.g. NUH, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, National University Polyclinics) as required.
  • Be exposed to health services research, population health research, human biomedical research and clinical trials.
Qualifications
  • Have at least a Bachelor’s degree (for RAs) or Master’s degree (for RAsco) in Nursing, Life Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate tact and discretion when dealing with confidential data.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Able to travel between study sites for study‑related activities when needed.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player in a fast‑paced academic/clinical research environment.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare organization, health services or health outcomes research is preferred.
