Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Singapore is looking for a qualified nurse to supervise and perform direct patient care in dialysis settings. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and instructing patients on care procedures. Candidates should possess at least a Diploma in Nursing and ideally have 2 years of experience in dialysis; however, training will be provided for non-renal trained individuals. This role offers flexible working hours based on clinical roster assignments.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid SNB license.
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in dialysis care, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform direct patient care including monitoring vital signs.
  • Communicate emergencies and patient complications to supervisors.
  • Instruct patients on pre- and post-dialysis care.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Supervises and performs direct patient care including but not limited to taking and monitoring vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment of patients and patient treatments, taking and transcription of physician’s orders, drawing and documentation of ordered laboratory work
  • Notes signs of trauma, patients’ general physical and emotional condition, review dialysis orders, documents observations in patient medical records
  • Analyses patient assessments, laboratory data and, when concerns are noted, brings issues to the attention of the physician
  • Communicates all emergencies, patient life‑threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor.
  • Assess patient and family learning readiness and provides appropriate information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen and its impact on the patient’s state of health and well‑being
  • Provides dialysis therapy, including but not limited to formulating dialysis plan per physician orders, weight and rate of ultrafiltration, verifying safety measures are in place and complied with, administering medications or other appropriate treatments, discontinuing dialysis according to established procedure, documenting all activity appropriately
  • Instructs patients on pre‑ and post‑dialysis care
  • Administers patient quality care in a considerate, respectful manner
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the patient’s short‑ and long‑term plan of care and monthly progress note
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Preferably at least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field (dialysis) is required for this position, non‑renal trained will also be considered - training will be provided.
  • Holds a valid SNB licence.

Working hours to be based on clinical roster.
