About The Team

The APAC Safety Operations team supports the continued safe and sustainable growth of Uber's operations in the region across all lines of business. #StandforSafety is our core value and delivering on this is crucial for the long term success of Uber.

About The Role

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with an analytical and constructive mindset to join our APAC Safety Operations team. As a Regional Safety Program Manager, you will be part of the team that aims to make Uber the safest platform through industry-leading innovation, policies, and processes, while supporting the safe and sustainable growth of the Mobility and Delivery businesses. You will work with multiple cross‑functional partners across Product, Operations, Community Operations, Legal, Policy and Comms teams both regionally and globally. You should ideally have a strong background in program management and be able to manage multiple cross‑functional projects simultaneously, while having a keen interest in safety and compliance.

Your Impact in Role
  • Manage product feature rollouts/improvements across 10 markets in APAC and advocate for safety and compliance products/processes in the region, with a focus on managing and owning our safety controls
  • Proactively evaluate safety and compliance risk using data across the region to develop strategies and initiatives to address identified gaps and known or emerging safety‑related risk patterns to inform important strategic decisions, design and implement processes to mitigate such risks
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of initiatives and work with local teams and management to execute those strategies
  • Manage and work with different cross‑functional stakeholders across proactive initiatives as well as reactive incident response
  • Help transform the internal safety culture within Uber, helping to ensure we put safety at the heart of all that we do
The Experience You'll Bring
  • Be a proactive, self‑starter with a keen interest in Safety & Compliance and cross‑functional program management experience
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects
  • Strong analytical skills (SQL competency required) and have experience presenting data and findings, whilst making data driven decisions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ideally have 3+ years of experience in trust and safety with a strong background in program management
  • Experience with consumer identity verification methods and identity compliance is a plus
  • Stakeholder management experience across multiple countries/regions and the ability to understand various XFN perspectives
  • Fluency in an APAC language (e.g. Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese) is a bonus
