Job description

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join a Well-Established Financial Services MNC. In this role, you will support day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations, including preparing, processing, and analyzing financial transactions to ensure accuracy and timely reporting. You will also assist with ongoing accounting, treasury, and finance activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.

This role primarily focuses on regional payments and may serve as a backup for other markets within the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, track, and process accounts payable (AP) transactions accurately and on time in accordance with established procedures
• Review, analyze, and reconcile financial data and supporting documentation within accounting systems
• Follow up on and resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries related to employee reimbursements, vendors, auditors, and cost centre owners
• Support monthly, quarterly, half‑yearly, and annual closing activities, including audits and compliance checks
• Ensure accounting operations comply with internal controls, regulatory, and tax requirements
• Perform quality checks on work to minimize errors and ensure data accuracy
• Support accounting‑related projects and ad‑hoc tasks as required
• Carry out other duties assigned by the finance team

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting function
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and AP processes
• Knowledge of GST regulations (Australia and New Zealand) is an advantage
• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ERP systems experience preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently in a structured, deadline‑driven environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills
