Job description
Senior Advisor, Demand Planning

What gives Dell Technologies our competitive advantage? It’s our ability to achieve cost savings as we operate at the cutting edge of technology. Working in an environment that’s as complex as it is critical, our Materials and Procurement team manages a group of indirect categories, such as real estate, marketing material, supplies or software. We use our in-depth knowledge and experience to develop strategic relationships with external suppliers as well as with key stakeholders. Our role also includes leading contract negotiations, managing risk, driving cost‐saving initiatives and implementing strategic sourcing best practices.

What you’ll achieve

As a supply chain Sr. Advisor, you will be a part of global Storage supply chain planning organization. In this role you will own the forecast for a portion of Storage products and commodities. You will leverage data to create forecast, set customer lead times, manage part shortage and excess; ultimately aiming to maximize customer experience while balancing business objectives. You will work with procurement, marketing, product group, and various other teams across global operations.

You will:
  • Develop demand signals weekly including MPP, Large orders and MRP. Develop demand sensing inputs/outputs to translate customer and financial requirements into actionable forecasts for Operations and Procurement, which balance customer experience with operational metrics
  • Develop and execute product transition plans to effectively migrate through the product life cycle without customer delivery interruptions or excess material supply. Effectively translate supply plans from WWP to set appropriate lead time
  • Govern demand consumption rates and provide early warning and mitigation options to supply issues. Establish demand shaping programs with segments during times of supply imbalances or when required to meet a shift in the regional marketing or financial plans
  • Work supply imbalances, both excesses and shortages, with the supply chain to correct as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Develop and implement predictive analytics and forecast methods that suit different types of demand
  • Lead management of assigned products including simplification of current processes, innovation for improvement and KPI achievement. Coordinate cross functional team members with S&OP content including communication of risk, attainment, excess and supportability.
