Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team, specializing in metal construction, steelwork, and aluminum projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to projects, from initial calculations to final figures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for metal construction, steelwork, and aluminum projects to ensure accurate financial planning
- Administer contract documents by managing variations, claims, and final accounts to maintain contractual compliance and project profitability
- Evaluate bids and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure cost-effective procurement of materials and services
- Monitor project progress by tracking costs, identifying potential overruns, and implementing corrective actions to maintain budget control
- Generate regular cost reports, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections to inform project stakeholders and support decision-making
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align project objectives with budget and schedule requirements
- Apply proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost management
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Quantity Surveyor with significant exposure to metal construction, steelwork, and aluminum projects
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement processes, and contract law to effectively manage project financials
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration and problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
