A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a Quality Control Microbiologist for a contract role. The successful candidate will perform essential testing of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with GMP and GLP standards. Responsibilities include managing laboratory records, conducting Root Cause Analysis, and maintaining inventory of QC materials. Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in a relevant science discipline and have 1–3 years of experience in QC testing within a pharmaceutical environment.
Responsibilities
Perform timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, utilities, base powder, and finished goods in accordance with approved methods and schedules.
Apply good laboratory practices (GLP) to ensure accurate, reliable, and compliant test results.
Support investigations through basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when results fall outside specifications.
Assist in Method Verification and Method Validation activities as required.
Collect, analyze, and trend routine and non-routine Environmental Monitoring samples, including swabs, air samples, and water, to ensure optimal plant hygiene.
Support environmental monitoring swab sampling and testing when required.
Maintain complete, accurate, and legible laboratory notebooks and records in compliance with GMP and GLP requirements.
Manage and maintain adequate inventory of QC materials, including reagents, chemicals, and consumables, to support uninterrupted testing.
The experience we're looking for
Minimum diploma or degree in a science-related discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences)
1–3 years of hands-on experience in QC testing or laboratory operations within GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical environments.
Familiarity with laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS, Empower, MODA, or similar)
Good documentation and GMP compliance practices
Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced manufacturing support environment
