Job description

As a Software Engineer at Zeller, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. Your responsibilities will include:- Flexing between manual testing and automation procedures to ensure comprehensive test coverage- Identifying and addressing tricky edge cases with your keen attention to detail- Developing and extending QA processes to minimize regression defects- Collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers, DevOps specialists, and architects- Conducting Black Box and Grey Box testing to validate software functionality- Designing and implementing test automation frameworks, providing support, and refactoring as needed- Translating business requirements into technical designs for effective testing solutions- Implementing, testing, and deploying solutions across various environments- Keeping pace with software application and architecture evolutions to maintain up-to-date test cases and automationTo be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field- 4+ years of experience in a technical hands-on software engineering role- Proficiency in Java 17+, REST Assured, Gradle, and JUnit 5+- Experience in multi-threaded Java backend, API, and SQL database development- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, including serverless and container-based environments- Knowledge of secure coding practices and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control- Background in developing high-load production systems with high SLA requirements- Demonstrable experience in developing mission-critical systemsIn addition to your technical skills, we are looking for candidates with the following attributes:- A passion for challenging the status quo and driving innovation- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a collaborative approach- Willingness to be bold yet consistent in applying engineering principles- Logical, ethical, mature, and responsible mindset- Fast learner with a humble attitude and a willingness to share knowledge- Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure, especially during production issues or tight deadlinesBonus points if you have experience in working within high-growth environments, other cloud platforms, different programming languages, or PCI compliant environments.Joining Zeller means benefiting from competitive remuneration, a supportive work environment, excellent leave entitlements, and a fully remote role.
